    Spoilers (part deux)

So now the Doctor Who specials have been filming for a few weeks and because I have a damn Internet connection I have been sucked into the Spoiler Zone yet again. Why can’t I just not look? Why do I have to search for these bits of information? As I said here I would enjoy the whole experience much more if I knew nothing. Still, I can’t seem to help myself. It is like poking at that scab that never heals. I know that if I leave it alone I’ll get better but there is something compelling about its crusty exterior that I can’t resist. Ahem…

It makes me want to share the stuff that I have found too, but that is also bad because I make the circle of pain that much wider. Then other people discover things that they don’t want to know and that makes them unhappy. That said, this site never recived so many hits as when I published that photo of Davros. That should be no excuse. Aaargh dammit, you twisted my arm, if you want to know then read further… (More …)

    Apple release Safari 4

    download-hero-20090217

    Safari 4

Apple have made a public beta of the latest version of their Safari web browser available for download. It is a pretty thing indeed. There are a number of bells and whistles that we have seen before (it looks and feels a lot like Chrome). There are a number of new features like the ability to save a web page as an application a la Google Gears or Fluid (edit: although I have yet to find this function). There is also a start page not unlike Chrome or Opera that takes your history and shows you which sites you are going to the most. Pretty useful, not especially innovative but it it executed really well. I’m going to keep working with it for a while where I can. Note that I say where I can. (More …)

    Technorati doh

    Technorati no more like me

    Technorati no more like me

So I probably did a silly thing. Well in fact I think that the problem was that I did nothing for too long. I used to have this blog registered with Technorati in order to increase visbility. That was years ago. It didn’t seem to do much but that was more to do with the infrequency of my blogging I suspect. As I have got older I have become more lazy in this respect.

Anyway, it seems that Technorati have removed my blog. The URL has apparently been flagged in their systems. Why does this happen? A quick search on their site will tell you: (More …)

Hello! Technorati Support here.. saw your twitter on Technorati and found your post. I took a look at your blog and it looks like it was indeed flagged for review. Because we see a lot a spam coming in, we put rules into place that flag sites that exhibit “spammy” behavior such as using the same adsense ID across multiple blogs. Your blog fell into this case. I’ve reviewed your blog and have made the adjustments so that they should now appear in searches and are indexed for their most recent posts. Thanks!

      Hi Marc

      Been a LONG time!

Glad to see you got this problem sorted and fantastic personal support from Technorati.

I think the problem well may have been the fact that it found the automated stuff on Twitter before it did on your blog so you may well be right in assuming that it was the “non-original content” side of things.

      Keep in touch via Facebook.

      David

For the record. The problem according to Janice from Tecnorati was more to do with the fact that I use the same Adsense code for both this site and http://thecontrast.net . A lot for trouble all the income it brings in. :(

    Fishmen

This came from Warren Ellis’ blog. It is a wonderful piece of horror musical, which there is just not enough of these days. They just don’t write those Lovecraftian musicals like they used to.

Also on Mr Ellis’ site I found this little gem about immortal jellyfish http://www.warrenellis.com/?p=6960. There is a little more information on the Register Scary shit indeed. If you are afraid of tiny jellyfish that is.
