This is the right time to bring Davros back. Taking a show at its peak, and ading something to inprove it, brave, smart and fantastic.
oh- hate to be so superficial- the Davros in my head looks so diffrent from the one there… mabie Davros now likes Meat pies!
Yeah I have to say that I thought he looked a little jowly. A lot like the aged Doctor in the Last of the Time Lords last season. Still I can’t wait, I think it is going to be a cracker.
Someone’s gonna lose their job over this. Still it’s great news for Doctor Who fans.
Leaked “Official” photos here http://marcaprice.com/film-tv/leaked-official-davr …
Got to say the Red Dalek looks ace. The toy makers over the years got it right!!And this is definitely a worthy addition to the ranks along with the second in command in the Peter Cushing ‘Dr Who And the Daleks’..one problem Daleks can’t see the colour red, says Terry Nation so present day UNIT troops are safer??
My girlfriend pointed out the other day that it was in Iron Man red and gold. I’m sure this is completely coincidental.
can’t wait
I’m sorry, but as far as I know, the Red Dalek is nothing new, it comes from the old Dr Who series, “Daleks: Invasion of Earth 2150AD” and the film “Dr Who and the Daleks”.
The Red Dalek is only a Dalek Saucer Commander, at least in the Dalek hierarchy. Take a look http://www.historyvortex.org/DalekLeaders.html
Well, yes, nearly… A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing indeed.
is the red dalek name the supreme dalek or is there another one
Hi, I found your blog on this new directory of WordPress Blogs at blackhatbootcamp.com/listofwordpressblogs. I dont know how your blog came up, must have been a typo, i duno. Anyways, I just clicked it and here I am. Your blog looks good. Have a nice day. James.
Hello! Technorati Support here.. saw your twitter on Technorati and found your post. I took a look at your blog and it looks like it was indeed flagged for review. Because we see a lot a spam coming in, we put rules into place that flag sites that exhibit “spammy” behavior such as using the same adsense ID across multiple blogs. Your blog fell into this case. I’ve reviewed your blog and have made the adjustments so that they should now appear in searches and are indexed for their most recent posts. Thanks!
Here is a Safari 4 Growl Mail temporary fix:

Hi Marc
Been a LONG time!
Glad to see you got this problem sorted and fantastic personal support from Technorati.
I think the problem well may have been the fact that it found the automated stuff on Twitter before it did on your blog so you may well be right in assuming that it was the “non-original content” side of things.
Keep in touch via Facebook.
David
Ha ha! It’s Decksy Dave… I hope you are well. I saw you on FB. I’ll shoot you a message via via
Hey thanks for the tip – i was wondering why my GrowlMail was crashing Mail too, didn’t even think it was connected to Safari 4! I am enjoying Safari 4 except for the Wordpress problem. I imagine this will most likey be fixed in the next WP release.
For the record. The problem according to Janice from Tecnorati was more to do with the fact that I use the same Adsense code for both this site and http://thecontrast.net . A lot for trouble all the income it brings in.
comment is a wonderful thing
I suppose the question is… how long does it take for the comments to sync from JS-Kit to here. I’m seeing nothing in the comments (in the admin section) for the above post. :’(
I wonder if you would think the same if own a women’s clothing (undergarments) store.
Money is money, specially with this economy, you must find ways to bring more income to the table.
Indeed. It seems that the sarcasm or intended humour of my post did not come over well. If I had my own shop I would happily stock such items if it meant that I had to adorn the walls with posters of cleavage.
You make good points, but I kind of liked that nothing happened with the people on the bus. There are always a whole slew of character in the Who universe who are just there to fill time. Midnight was an exception because they existed to show humanity betray the Doctor. They really had no inner life of their own. These characters existed more as someone for the Doctor to save. I thought they worked in this context.
If it were up to me I would have given them more to do and not bothered with the thief character, but I guess they wanted lots of publicity about hiring Michelle Ryan.
Sometimes I want to get RTD, and force him to look at his plots and say: “don’t you think they look tired?”
POTD was a fairly pedestrian outing for our favourite Timelord, and that I think was its redeeming defect. It was small scale and the better for it. Almost, an aside for the Doctor. The human race wan’t really at risk and we didn’t have daleks, or cybermen or the Master. Nice little romp.
I also think it’s worth mentioning Lee Evans in despatches. He was really rather good. Funny. And the children loved it.
@Dan
You’re quite right, Lee Evans was really entertaining. I would have liked to have seen more of him. Perhaps we will in the future.
As for the scale. They have shown (in things like Midnight) that they can downscale really effectively. I felt like this was a but of a rerun that didn’t quite work out. It was effectively a Troughtonesque base under siege adventure but there was no siege or threat. It was OK, but I will file it under dalliance. As there is so little “Who” this year I had hoped for more.
I still want it to be true so I’m gonna sit here with my eyes shut really tight and will it to be true.
Starting … now!
Clmon man. Those guns only look real. Those kids are learning to fight terrists withpellet guns! Besides they’re boyscouts. They’ll probably grow up to be like the cop in the village people.
Hey Paul. Agreed they are toy guns (if there is ever such a thing as a “toy gun”). But I don’t think it is appropriate to teach kids to fight “terrorists” at all. There is a thin line between this and a 9 year old recruit fighting in the Congo.
According to aintitcoolnews.com it will be an origins story rather than a remake. It also lists the proposed director (who has only previously done adverts but whose name escapes me) and says that Ridley and Tony Scott will be producing. Any excitement about Ridley’s involvement is tempered with the fact that 20th Century Fox is still involved, a company that is hell bent on turning every film into a product for magpie masses who still marvel at shiny objects that glisten in the sunlight.
Machete out…
Origin/remake don’t care. I’m sick to the back teeth of reboots/remakes/remodels and so on.
I’m really going to miss Outpost Gallifrey. Especially the archive. I’ve basically used all those descriptions, details and reviews to learn about Doctor Who for years now. The layout is just about perfect and I’ve never found another site quite like it. I feel it’s the best Doctor Who reference guide one can find online. Guess now I’m going to have to break down and buy those seven volumes of About Time.
We’re so rabidly entrenched against taxes that we decided to simply raise tax. It’s a rude a surprise for the poor sucker who gets the bill, but the rest of us are pleased as punch. Just think of the stimulus party we can put on with that kind of scratch!
“Change, my dear and it seems not a moment too soon!”
In the past, many new incoming producers have always wished to stamp their mark on the programme by various means.
I think the new Police Box exterior is fantastic and hope the rumours about the interior being redesigned are true. We certainly need to see more rooms.
It gives the merchandise makers the opportunity to sell us more TARDIS toys and models.
I wonder if they’ll redesign the DOCTOR WHO logo too? This one’s also been in place since 2005 when the programme returned to our screens.
Over to you, Steven Moffat and your production team!
kiss became a much better band with eric carr and other guitarists after frehley and chris left the band. their substance abuse took its toll. kiss rules and modern day delilah sounds fantastic.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I kind of agree about KISS reaching their peak in the 80s. Vinnie Vincent was a spectacular guitarist, Bruce Kulick was good too but too much of a hired hand. Eric Carr was a thumping good drummer.
Nostalgia killed the band for me. The line up was solid and then they did the first reunion tour with Peter and Ace. They became a parody of themselves and this is a constant source of irritation for me.
Modern Day Delilah sounds like an outtake of Hot in the Shade which was a really ordinary album found in bargain bins everywhere.
” went staight to bet for a 3 hour nap”
is there a bookies close by?
it took you a while to make your selection no wonder cat fell asleep. sorry for the puns and have a great time!
